Returns Policy

We want you to be happy with your purchase from Timaru Sewing Centre. This policy applies to both online and in-store purchases.

Change of mind

If you've simply changed your mind, you can return the item for an exchange or credit note within 14 days of purchase, provided it is unused, in its original condition and packaging, and you have proof of purchase. Return postage is your responsibility for change-of-mind returns.

The following items cannot be returned for change of mind, as they can't be resold once cut, opened or used:

  • Fabric, lace, ribbon or other goods cut to length for you
  • Patterns that have been opened
  • Sewing machines and other electrical items once used

Faulty or incorrect items

If an item is faulty, not fit for purpose, or doesn't match what you ordered — including cut fabric, opened patterns or used machines — your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 apply and we will repair, replace or refund as appropriate, and we'll cover the cost of returning it to us. Please contact us as soon as possible so we can help sort it out. Sewing machines and other electrical items may also be covered by the manufacturer's warranty.

How to return an item

Please contact us before sending anything back, so we know it's on its way and can help with the best way to return it. Online orders can be returned by post or brought in-store.

Exchanges and credit notes

Approved change-of-mind returns are given as an exchange or credit note once we've received and checked the returned item. Faulty or incorrect items are handled as above.
